IMPLEMENTING THE UNITED NATIONS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

The Carbon Free Cooperative is a digital and physical space where students, staff, faculty, and community members can engage with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and Climate
Change solutions academically, socially, professionally, environmentally and artistically.

SUSTAINABILITY AND CLIMATE ACTION

The Carbon Free Cooperative is an overarching organization which focalizes on enhancing and implementing the United Nations Sustainable Development goals on York University’s campus through
increasing student engagement at York University. Surrounding community members, stakeholders and
the York community (staff, faculty, students) will be informed of the environmental impacts of their
food diets (GHG emissions, impact on animal welfare, impact of developing nations, where/how you can
engage with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and much more).

INSPIRE AND EMPOWER YORK UNIVERSITY

We will provide awareness on the following themes: sustainability, climate action, poverty alleviation, permaculture, regenerative agriculture, indigenous action, and much more. The Carbon Free Cooperative intends to highlight how individuals and organizations can achieve sustainability and go net-
zero in their day to day lives/long term. The UN SDGs and Earth Charter will serve as models and philosophies which can be embodied by individuals, organizations, and communities. Our organization
will further sustainability and art at York University’s campus and will synchronize these objectives in innovative ways which engage, inspire, and empower. York University will benefit through having an
increased reputation, higher attraction, and higher retainment of talent. Sustainability will serve as a
smart investment in the long term economically and intergenerationally.
